About the Elks

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks abide by the principles of Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love and Fidelity. We serve the people and communities of our American nation through benevolent programs, demonstrating that Elks Care and Elks Share.

Some of our key national programs include:

Scholarships – The Elks National Foundation annually provides more than $3.65 million in college scholarships to graduating seniors.

Veterans Programs – Since the early days of Elkdom, the Veterans Service Commission has patriotically served those Elks who have fought for our great nation.

Hoop Shoot – The yearly Elks Hoop Shoot Free Throw Program is open to all boys and girls ages 8 through 13. The contest starts at the lodge level in December and advances through district, state and regional contests before the national finals in the spring.

Americanism – Elks participate in a variety of events throughout the year such as Flag Day, Veterans Day and Memorial Day, as well as supporting programs such as the Americanism essay contest for school children.

In addition, the Midland Elks also proudly support our own local activities, such as:

Christmas Basket Program – Each year, the Elks deliver approximately 100+ gift baskets – including a complete family Christmas dinner and all the fixings and more – for needy families in the Midland area.
